Throughout history there has been a large amount of progress seen in the medical field. Where does this progress come from? As the United States fought hard during times of wars, the number of injured soldiers began to rise. Without the proper procedures and tools to care for these soldiers, they would have died. Times of war provide an extremely important component to the medical frontier- a time to learn. Over the course of the last century, the United States involvement in wars has proved useful to the advancement of medicine. Each war has brought new technology, new procedures and new techniques, all which have been used not only in war, but in civilian hospitals as well. Wars have provided ample opportunities for the advancement in the medical field, ultimately resulting in the success of the United States.
